This explains what we collect, why we collect it, who touches it, and what you can do about all of that. It covers hertechacademy.com, our free trainings, our strategy calls, and the Her Tech Academy program. No maze, no ten pages of hedging. If something here is not clear, email us and ask.
Some of this you hand us. Some of it is collected automatically when you use the site. Here is the whole list.
What you give us. Your name, email address, and phone number when you register for a training, book a call, or enroll. Your answers to our surveys, applications, and booking questions, which cover things like your current role, your background, what you want to be earning, and what is standing in your way. Anything else you send us in an email, a text, or a community post.
Payment information. Card details go straight to our payment processor and are handled by them. We do not see or store your full card number. What we keep is the record of what you bought, when you bought it, and where your payment plan stands.
Usage data. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you looked at, how long you stayed, what you clicked, and which ad or link brought you here. This comes from analytics and advertising tools.
Program activity. If you enroll: which modules you have worked through, which cohort calls you attended, and what you post inside the student community.
That is the entire list of reasons. If we ever want to use your information for something outside it, we will ask you first.
We do not sell your personal information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. We do not rent it or trade it either. The only outside companies that touch your data are the service providers we use to run the program, and they get only what they need to do their job.
There are three narrow situations where we share information without selling it. When the law requires it, such as a court order or a tax audit. If the business is ever sold or merged, in which case your information moves with it and this policy still applies. And when you tell us to, which is the only time your details go to anyone else.
Email. Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list. Unsubscribing stops marketing email. It does not stop the operational emails about something you paid for, like your access details or a call reminder.
SMS. If you tick the SMS box or give us your number to receive a link, you are agreeing to receive automated text messages from Her Tech Academy. That means reminders, confirmations, and occasional messages about our programs.
Opting out of SMS does not affect your enrollment. You keep everything you paid for. It only stops the texts.
We do not share your phone number with anyone for their own marketing.
We use cookies and similar technologies, plus advertising pixels from Meta, Google, and TikTok.
They do three things. They keep the website working. They show us which pages and which ads bring people here. And they let us show ads to people who have already visited. That is how a small company finds out whether its advertising works at all.
You are not stuck with them. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies, and most browsers offer a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor where the law requires it. Meta, Google, and TikTok each have their own ad settings you can change inside your account. Blocking cookies will not lock you out of this site, although a few things may behave oddly.
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy and handles your data under its own terms. We pick providers who take security seriously, but we do not control them.
Your data moves over encrypted connections. Access is limited to the people who need it to do their work. Payments are handled by a PCI compliant processor, so card numbers never sit on our systems.
No system is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If a breach happens that affects your personal information, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as quickly as the law requires.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will, apart from the records we are legally required to keep.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, because handing someone's data to the wrong person is its own privacy problem. Using any of these rights never costs you anything.
You have every right listed above under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. We rely on three lawful bases to process your information:
Your data is processed in the United States, where our providers are based, with appropriate safeguards in place for that transfer.
If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, and you do not need our permission to do it.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, and to opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not sell personal information. We do share limited information with advertising platforms for the kind of targeted advertising the CPRA calls sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out by emailing us, by changing the ad settings inside those platforms, or by turning on a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honor.
We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a worse experience because you used any of these rights. That is the law, and it is also how we would want to be treated.
Her Tech Academy is for adults. You must be 18 or older to register, book a call, or enroll, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we find out that a minor has given us information, we delete it. If you believe that has happened, email us and we will take care of it.
We update this policy when our practices change or when the law changes. The date at the top of the page tells you when it last changed.
For anything material we will do more than change the date. You will get an email, or you will see a notice on the site.
Questions about this policy, or a request about your own data, go to [email protected]. Put "Privacy" in the subject line so it reaches the right person quickly.
You can also reach us on Instagram at @hertechacademy, but please send data requests by email so there is a record of them.
Our terms and conditions cover enrollment, payment, and refunds.
